There’re many types of web hosting plans in the market. Which web hosting plan is the best choice for you? Okay, maybe you’re not familiar with web hosting types, here I’d like to bring some useful information about web hosting types to you.
Let me introduce the first type – Free Web Hosting Service.
Some of the developers don’t want to spend any cash and this web hosting type will be suit for their requirements. But please note, I never recommend free web hosting to the web masters. Why? Since there’re many restriction for the developers to use free web hosting service and the providers always add advertisement in the free web hosting. It’s real bad and there’s no backups for the free web hosting.

As you see, most of the web developers don’t need too much disk space and bandwidth, the shared web hosting service will be the best choice for them. As you see, all of my websites are hosted on the shared web hosting server, since I don’t have enough money to purchase a dedicated server.
Virtual Private Server – Virtual dedicated hosting (or VPS) is a method of partitioning a physical server computer into multiple virtual servers such that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine. Each virtual server can run its own full-fledged operating system (even Linux and Winows), but each server is sharing the same physical resources. The virtual private server is better than shared web hosting since you can receive dedicated RAM and some of the VPS hosting providers allow the customers to have remote desktop.
Reseller Hosting – This is also a popular web hosting type in the industry. As you see, some of the web masters would like to resell the web hosting service. Maybe you’ve found why there’re so many web hosting companies in the world, now let me tell you, most of the web hosting companies are web hosting resellers.
Dedicated Server – The web hosting type allows the users to control the whole of the web hosting server. There’re many famous dedicated web hosting service providers, such as The Planet, SingleHop, Arvixe, Hostgator, InMotion Hosting.. The Dedicated Server is a very good option for the web masters who need large storage and bandwidth.
Managed Server – The web hosting type is similar to dedicated server hosting, the customer does not get full control of anything other than their data. The server is leased to the customer, but the web hosting company manages the server to maintain its integrity.
Colocation Hosting – The web hosting type is actually owned by the customer but the web hosting service provides the customer with the physical space, electrical and Internet needs for the server. The customer’s own staff is responsible for upgrading the server.
Clustered Hosting – The web hosting type is having multiple servers hosting the same content for better resource utilization. Clustered Servers are a perfect solution for high-availability dedicated hosting, or creating a scalable web hosting solution.
Home PC Server – Okay! I think it doesn’t need me to introduce a lot with this web hosting type. The Home PC Server means you can use your local computer as web hosting server, but please note it should be a super computer and your ISP connection needs to be stable.
