How’s HostMonster support? Okay, if you’ve never contacted with hostmonster support team before, here I’d bring some information about their support team. HostMonster support team are available for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You can choose to contact with their support team via live chat, phone call or open a ticket to get email support. With our experience, the live chat are avarage and the ticket support team seems to be more professional. In all, the support team is already better than most of the other web hosting companies.

We are running our Online Shop qacaq.com for almost a year now at hostmonster.com. We are very satisfied with them. The speed is good (could be better though). The space is good but they have a 50k file limit. I read they you will violate the T&C when you go over it. For the low price that they offer its ok. Uptime is excellent. Even though we do not have much comparison with the other providers, I can recommend them as a provider for your choice. I would always use them again. If you don’t know which host to choose for your Online Store, Hostmonster is a good choice. You only have to add some money for the dedicated IP address and the SSL certificate, which can only be ordered together. Two thumbs up!
I like Hostmonster. I think they provide a fair service for the price. The only thing that matters to me is that my websites work and are not too slow. So far, it’s been a year I’m hosted at hostmonster and my webpages are usually loading fairly quickly.
I went with hostmonster mainly for the ssh access. I hate using text editors or dream weaver-like applications. I’ve had very little trouble with this provider. In the two years I’ve been with hostmonster my site has went down twice that i’ve noticed and the downtime was minimal. I’ve hosted with many other companies and so far hostmonster is the best for the price. The very few times that I’ve had to speak with tech support they have always been very knowledgeable and helped me to resolve the issues. I would (and do) highly recommend hostmonster for your hosting needs.
I haven’t got much to say, my only complaint is that they don’t support (at least, they don’t Say they do, there may be a way around it) ffmpeg-php… then again, what Shared host really Does offer ffmpeg-php (dreamhost sure don’t, although they say they do -.-) so ffmpeg isn’t a big issue, only for people who really should be on a dedicated server.
Anyway, all in all, only One downtime passed the last over 3 years, only lasted for about half an hour.
Their customer support is The Best I have ever come across, they are friendly and always up for a laugh and they’ve always been able to help me, very professional and surprisingly great for the price that you pay.
All in all, 5/5!
Can I send an email with large files or attachments?
Indeed, Hostmonster does have a 10MB limit on individual email sent out. If you have an attachment that is larger than 10MB you can upload the file to your site and send the link/URL to that file, within your email.
To send a file that is larger than 10MB via email will have to compress your file or break it into separate rar or zip files in order to send the file via email.
I’d like to know what’s the absolute path to my folder?
The path to your folder on the server should be:
/home/username/
Where “username” would be your web hosting account username when you signed up with Hostmonster.
What versions of PHP are you running?
Hostmonster currently runs two versions of PHP. Check your control panel to verify which version your server runs.
* PHP 4 Servers: 4.4.6
* PHP 5 Servers: 5.2.6
Do you support mod_rewrite on the server?
It is by default already enabled on the server. There’s no need to do anything to ensure it is enabled.
How do I see how much diskspace and bandwidth I have used?
To check the disk usage you will need to log into your cPanel and click on the Disk Usage. In order to check the bandwidth usage you will log into your cPanel and click on the Web/FTP Stats then click on Bandwidth.
Do you have any limits on the disk space?
The disk space is unlimited, but we do have the limit on the total files. Each account can upload 50,000 files max, if you’re over the limit, please clear the additional files.
Can I make subdomains for my addon domains on the account?
Subdomains can be created by using the subdomain manager for addon and parked domains. Hostmonster does not however, allow sub-subdomains such as sub1.sub2.domain.com.
How long will it take to get my new website online?
Hostmonster can have your site online the same day you submit your order. Your account will be setup within one hour of your purchase, provided that the order application is accurate and complete. You will receive your account information via e-mail, at which point you can start on uploading files to the space and preparing your site.
However, it could take a few days for the domain name to point to the account, depending on whether it is a new registration or a domain transfer. All new domain registrations are normally processed within 24 hours of submission. Please allow this time period to elapse prior to requesting information on your account.

HostMonster have many DNS groups. You can contact with the live chat support team and provide your web hosting account username to them to help you check if you’re not sure what the DNS server is.
